Hello - Today is Sunday, June 13th and I am happy to be alive.
We all love nature and pretty flowers. Well this morning, while we were walking, I noticed these pretty flowers on the side of the road. I liked it so much, I dug a small one up in the hopes that I could plant it in our yard back at the house.
Since we did not know what it was, we took a picture of with with the app Picture this. It identified the plant as a "Desert thorn-Apple" or Datura, which is a very poisonous plant that could cause death to humans, cats, dogs and horses. I immediately tossed the plant I had dug up and we hurried home so I could wash my hands.
After I got to the house and washed my hands, I read more on the internet about the Datura. It stated the poisonous ones have a purple throat on the flower. The pictures I took did not have a purple throat but otherwise looked exactly like the pictures on the web.
