Today is Monday, June 21st, the first day of summer. I am happy to be alive.
Sometimes we get down and don't want to do what we want to do or need to do. It happens, there is nothing wrong with having emotions. We learn from them.
What we should not let happen is when we are feeling down that we let ourselves stay there. There are lots of different ways to get a pick up.
- play some uplifting music
- look around at others. There is probably someone else out there that is feeling worse than you.
- make a list of all the things you are thankful for
The list can go on and on. Acknowledge that you are feeling down, give yourselves a few minutes to think about why you are feeling down and then do something about it. Find what lifts you up when you are down and do it.
I usually look at nature. It has a way of brightening my mood almost every time.
