Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. This will be a post about battle rules and this week's rule will be Even Stevens.
What is the Even Stevens Rule?

Even Stevens is one of the battle rules in Splinterlands, in this rule players are allowed to use only cards with mana cost that are even numbers, that means you can use only cards with mana cost: 0,2,4,6 ,8,10,12,14...! If the card doesn't have an even mana cost then it won't appear for you to select.
This is a tricky type of rule that I usually don't like to have in my battles because it will greatly limit the number of cards you can select and it might not even be possible to form a decent team of cards for battle in this type of rule. having the maximum number of cards available for battle will be essential to increase the chances of victory.
Explaining in practice is much easier than in theory so I will demonstrate this rule in action through a battle.

BATTLE
In this battle the Even Stevens rule is active so as I mentioned before I will only be able to use cards with mana cost that are even numbers. In addition to the Even Stevens rule, the Equalizer rule is also active, in this rule all cards start with the amount of life of the card that has the most life, this means that the card that has the most life, whether mine or my opponent's, will represent the amount of life that all cards on the battlefield will have at the start.

Watch the Battle
With the Even Stevens rule, my number of cards will decrease a lot so I'll have to build a strategy with the cards I have left, but it will also be a good advantage to have the Equalizer rule because that way I won't have to worry about the amount of life my cards have left. cards have since they will all have the same amount.
For this battle I put together a strategy based on healing, defense and tricky abilities like Thorns and Magic Reflect. My damage wasn't exactly my priority but I still have powerful cards that have a good amount of attack.
To defend in first position I selected Failed Summoner, it is a card that has no attack but has the Magic Reflect ability which will be useful if my opponent has cards with magic attack.
In the second position I selected Kron the Undying, it will be my card with the highest attack in the battle and also a great defense since it has the Heal ability.
In the third position I selected Venari Spellsmith, it doesn't have much attack but it has the Dispel ability that can be very useful to clean the positive effects of my opponent's cards.
In the fourth position I selected Queen Mycelia, it also doesn't have much attack but it has the Protect ability and the Amplify ability, both of which will be very useful in this battle. The Protect ability will grant +2 shield to all my cards and Amplify will increase the damage done by Thorns and Magic Reflect abilities by +1.
In fifth position I selected Goblin Psychic, it will be my second highest attack card in the battle and it will also be very useful with its Tank Heal ability and Affliction ability.
In the sixth and last position I selected the Khmer Princess, she doesn't have anything very special at this level so it will only be useful for dealing damage to my opponent's cards.
I may not have cards with a lot of attack like my opponent but I'm confident that this strategy will bring me a good result.
The battle started and my strategy had already caused a good effect in the battle, the shield was very useful to defend some attacks and the Thorns ability is also being very useful to deal damage to my opponent's melee cards, but unfortunately the Magic Reflect ability of the Failed Summoner will not be useful in this battle.
There were several attacks but my opponent couldn't defeat the Failed Summoner since he had the support of the Goblin Psychic, on the other hand the Khmer Princess had no support and was receiving many attacks so she ended up being defeated, but she was still able to do a lot of damage on my opponent before that happened.
Princess Khmer was the only card I lost during the battle and no matter how hard my opponent tried, he couldn't defeat Failed Summoner so after 8 rounds I managed to achieve victory with 5 cards on the battlefield.
