When I hear “Coffee Walk”, the image that comes readily to my mind, is walking through some fields of coffee. I can imagine seeing berries on the left, to the right, straight ahead and behind. I can see red berries, yellow, yellow-green and green. I have heard of other walks. I have heard of mango and banana walks. But, let’s not get too fruity. Lol.
I remember visiting my grandma’s house as a kid. She had coffee plants at the front of her yard. I remember seeing the colorful berries on the tree. Apart from that experience, maybe the closest I got to a “coffee walk” and to coffee plants, was when I hiked through the Blue Mountains in Jamaica. This was many years ago. I was a teenager and went hiking with a large group. It was a rough climb. I remember mostly being tired and felt like the experience was really a test of my endurance. I do remember seeing fields of coffee and possibly a few people tending to them. Then, I was probably more focused on whether my feet would have managed to carry me for the rest of the journey and whether it was possible for me to fly my way down instead of walk. Should I re-do the experience, I’d probably actually look out for berries and pay more attention to the fields.
While I don’t know of any coffee plants being in the city in which I now live, one sure find is a coffee shop or cafe within short walking distance. I decided to do a ”coffee walk” in a small section of my city and within 10-15 minutes, I found not just coffee or a tea shop but also apparatuses and… more. Do you have some time? Take a walk with me.
Coffee Shops Dressed For Halloween
It was quite interesting seeing Halloween decorations and packaging for coffee. One shop in particular, had cups and mugs and a wide variety of coffee and coffee apparatuses.
I checked a few out but didn’t want to pretend as if it were a museum and overstay my time. I did notice that they had a diagram of a coffee bean and though not captured here, they showed videos of different countries and their coffee production. This shop was serious about coffee sales.

I briefly passed by another coffee shop. They had a small section for bread and offered charcoal roasted coffee among other kinds.
Kaldi Coffee Farm
I continued my walk and then stopped by Kaldi. Kaldi sells a wide variety items though it’s known for coffee. I am always amazed at how small the physical space is and how neatly they pack their items. They know how to use confined spaces. At the entrance they had boxes of supplies. Without entering I could see a bit of their tea and coffee. I saw coffee for sweet potato. I wondered what the flavor was like but just continued to look around.

Final Leg of the Walk
On the final leg of the walk, I saw two grape drink specials being offered. One was grape tea soda and the other was luxury grape smoothie. They both looked luxurious in my opinion.
With one eye closed, a closed purse and a quick head-turn in the opposite direction, I resisted the urge to get one. Seasonal drinks are really a big thing in Japan. If nothing else, I have learned to relax my seasonal drinks muscles. Haha.
My walk ended at a tea shop. They offered many kinds of green tea among other teas.

I enjoyed the walk and realized that there were many tea and coffee options within a fairly short distance.
Thanks for walking with me.
Have a great weekend.😃
