Sunday, today the Soccer World Cup started. I learned from the news that the initial game was between Ecuador and the host country, but I'm not very aware of what happened in the game, I'm a bit disconnected. Supe por las noticias que el juego inicial era entre Ecuador y el país anfitrión, pero no estoy muy enterado de que sucedió en el juego, estoy un poco desconectado. En fin, hoy es un día del que yo no sabía, pero al revisar en el sitio de https://nationaltoday.com/name-your-pc-day/ descubrí que es una fecha de celebración internacional y que resulta tener sus antecedentes en la década de los años 70 del siglo pasado, en verdad que una cosa de estas tiene ya más de 50 años y es apenas hoy que me entero de que existe, a pesar de que soy un entusiasta de las #computadoras, ya veo que siempre hay cosas que aprender del tema que te gusta.
En lo personal, pasó mucho tiempo en la computadora, más que todo leyendo y escribiendo, pero también para escuchar música, ver películas, ver fotos, comunicarme por redes sociales y mucho más. La computadora se ha convertido en un medio y herramienta para trabajar, entretenerme y estar en contacto con la gente.

- Your PC has a personality. Each PC has a unique personality, whether we believe it or not. It’s not obvious, but the minute we work on another person’s PC, we feel the difference and long to return to our own. Our trusted digital companions at least deserve recognition in the form of a name.
- PCs spend most of the day with you. If you’re a working adult, you’re probably in front of your PC for a minimum of eight hours a day. The PC is where we create our magic and trust it to deliver the best work. That’s why giving it a name also works as a little gesture of appreciation for this everyday essential in our lives.

En el sitio que indiqué un par de párrafos arriba, leí un listado de las razones para dar nombre a tu computadora y me gustaría citarlas:
- Te permite ser creativo. Nombrar cualquier cosa o persona no es fácil; sin embargo, esa es la diversión de este ejercicio. Ponerle un nombre a su PC desatará esos jugos creativos, y terminará creando una conexión personal con su PC una vez que le dé un nombre.
- Tu PC tiene personalidad Cada PC tiene una personalidad única, lo creamos o no. No es obvio, pero en el momento en que trabajamos en la PC de otra persona, sentimos la diferencia y deseamos volver a la nuestra. Nuestros compañeros digitales de confianza al menos merecen un reconocimiento en forma de nombre.

There is an additional detail, something that already enters the field of belief, a long time ago, when I was a child, I read about a Japanese idea of the existence of 10,000 souls, to refer to all living things, in which it was indicated that all things had their own spirit, their own 'reason' for existing, even tools and machines were endowed with the possibility of developing their own spirit with the passage of time and their contact with people.
I always found the idea a bit attractive, although I'm not the type of person who is very religious, but that our things have some kind of 'magic' beyond what we perceive, is something that has its charm.
In my particular case, I am writing from 'Quatre', the computer that replaced my old 'Archangel', and whose French name is due to my brother, since it was his computer at the beginning and he named it that way, I did not ask why, because I really don't know (laughs apologizing). I guess it's time for me to say goodbye, I wish you well, that your computer (or cell phone, which nowadays is a 'handheld computer') stays with you loyally and that we can read each other again another time.

Hay un detalle adicional, algo que ya entra en el campo de las creencias, hace tiempo, cuando yo era niño, leí sobre una idea japonesa de la existencia de las 10.000 almas, para referirse a todas las cosas vivientes, en la que se señalaba que todas las cosas tenían su propio espíritu, su propia ‘razón’ para existir, incluso las herramientas y máquinas estaban dotadas de la posibilidad de desarrollar su propio espíritu con el paso del tiempo y su contacto con las personas.
Siempre encontré un poco atractiva la idea, aunque no soy del tipo de persona que sea muy religiosa, pero eso de que nuestras cosas tenga alguna clase de ‘magia’ más allá de lo que percibimos, es algo que tiene su encanto.
En mi caso particular, estoy escribiendo desde ‘Quatre’, la computadora que reemplazó a mi viejo ‘Arcángel’, y cuyo nombre francés es debido a mi hermano, pues era su computadora en un inicio y él le nombró de esa manera, no me preguntes la causa, porque de verdad que no la sé (risas de disculpa). Supongo que ya es hora de que me despida, te deseo que tú estés bien, que tu computadora (o celular, que hoy en día es una ‘computadora de mano’) te acompañe lealmente y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
